I'm a big fan of PrivacyTech. You set your preferences once and Consent-o-Matic takes care of the rest. The 6 preferences you can toggle are based on the data processing purposes we found in 680 pop-ups (of the top 10K most popular sites in the UK). The extension currently works with pop-ups from: * QuantCast * OneTrust * TrustArc * Cookiebot and * Crownpeak Used by 58% of websites with pop-ups in the UK. But it can easily be expanded: the rules for detecting and interacting with a pop-up are a JSON structure, so you can write your own! How you can contribute is explained here: https://github.com/cavi-au/Conse...… It’s not perfect! If it doesn’t work for a pop-up, please report it by clicking the extension icon and then the “Let us know!” button. This will send us the URL of the page, so we can check what's wrong. There are extensions that try something similar, but they often just hide/block the pop-up, giving a false sense of control. Removing DOM elements does nothing when you are opted-in by default. Automating consent and privacy preferences is not new (DNT and P3P), but this project uses *adversarial interoperability*, rather than rely on industry self-regulation or buy-in from fundamentally opposed stakeholders (browsers, advertisers, publishers). Caveat: the extension is only as good as a really fast & informed user! If the site ignores the pop-up answer, automating that process means nothing. Shockingly, Kudos: @CelestinMatte, @Cristianapt, @nataliabielova who found this happens on ~7% of sites: https://www-sop.inria.fr/members...
