I built CompareTxt because I was tired of uploading sensitive files to random online diff tools just to see what changed between two versions.

CompareTxt is a fast, fully offline tool for comparing text files and folders side by side on Windows.

What it does:
Side-by-side file comparison with synchronized scrolling and line-by-line diff highlighting (added/removed/modified)
Folder comparison see full structure differences at a glance, with each item flagged as Added, Removed, Modified, or Identical
Filter folder views by status to focus only on what changed
Merge changes between files or folders, with full undo support
Deep File Explorer integration right-click "Select for Compare" then "Compare with Selected," no need to open the app first
