This looks really great. I've been looking for a simple and fast blogging solution. Do you currently support (or will you) a basic about page? Essentially a link in the nav bar that someone can switch between Blog -> About and back.
This looks amazing — I love the idea of it and might start trying it soon. My only concern is on the home page it says "no comments" and "no popups".
I don't really need popups, but I would like some way to collect reader's email addresses, so I can send them updates in the future. Will this be possible?
Also, why no comments? I feel like comments often add to the original content and make it richer instead of detracting from it (as you suggest)
@panphora
Collect emails: Yes! I launched with TinyLetter integration now, but I plan to add other services soon like Mailchimp, etc.
Comments: I don't want to just put comments on it, because it opens up a lot of things that I feel almost no one got right. I do agree with the statement that sometimes they add value. I would like to add something but I think it needs some deep thinking I've gotten not to yet.
@alejandro_crosa I use Commento on my own website and I love it. It's also pretty easy to implement. Maybe you could add it as an optional addon for premium users?
@panphora oh nice, looks pretty aligned with what I'm trying to do, I'll definitely take look, thank you!

Super simple design and UX: you write a note and it’s immediately published. And API support? Come on, everybody wants you locked in their platforms. Recommended!
It has enough simplicity to just open the app and inmediatly write a note, without any distraction, but at the same time it's powerful enough (thanks to markdown) to write with detailed formating if you want. Until now i've always used apps that had one strength or the other, but this one checks both for me.
The good things don't stop there. With any public note you have a link to share with anyone, and a public profile that looks and feels like a blog. So without any extra effort, you also have a blog. This is great for me. I literally started moving things form Medium and deleting them there.
Plus: amazing UX, RSS, and an API. If you want to build a more complex blog, you can do it and feed it directly with your Collected Notes content. Did I mention how amazing this is? Cause it is.
Congrats on the launch!
Very straight to the point landings, quick and transparent onboarding… nice work! 🙌
Here you have some feature suggestions. Probably you already have considered implementing them, but just in case it serves as inspiration, there you go 😊:
* Unified editing experience. I think Caret (abandoned, https://caret.io/4beta/) nailed it on this
* Automatic 301 redirect from the previous note URL to the new one once updating its title
* Easiness handling images (being able to search on Giphy/Unsplash and embed them)
* User avatar (importing it from Google account i.e.) showing up on site header
* Specify which limits the basic accounts have in the Premium landing
* G Drive sync as Markdown files
* Emoji key trigger. Having something like Rocket (https://matthewpalmer.net/rocket/) makes it easier than using the System emoji dialog and it would be a simillar experience, but not all the people use this kind of apps and shortcuts. Promoting it with a keymap shortcut such as ":" may be a quick win 😬
Hello Hunters 😊
Less than a month ago I decided to build an app for myself to solve a very specific problem:
“I want to be able to take notes on my phone, share some of them online, and others publish them on my personal blog — oh, an I also want an API!”
Long story short, I started a private beta a couple weeks ago and more than 700 people signed up. This past Saturday I enabled paid subscriptions and more than 30 people became premium with ten folks migrating their personal blogs to it! 🤯
It seems there’s demand for an easy to use native note taking app that can serve as an online publishing platform. A place where you can use your own domain and update your notes right from your phone. Of course, this is just a theory, so I would love to see if you all find it useful.
