Tell ColdLane where your perishable parcel is going and when. It shows the safest ship day, how much ice to pack, and whether to hold the box. After you ship, it warns you and your customer if a delay puts the parcel at risk. Any carrier, any lane.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm the maker of ColdLane.
The idea: picture a small smokehouse in Norway selling gift boxes of smoked salmon to Germany and the UK. One warm box means a refund, a lost customer and a bad review. Sensors are too expensive for a small shop, and most "cold chain" tools are built for big shippers or only work inside Shopify.
So ColdLane is a shipping risk desk for everyone else (Etsy, Instagram, WhatsApp, your own site):
- Pick the safest ship day. Enter origin, destination, product and ship date. ColdLane looks at the weather along the route and how long your carrier usually takes, then scores each of the next seven days.
- Pack the right amount. It tells you how much ice or insulation to use for your product (smoked fish at 0 to 4 °C is very different from chocolate or cut flowers), and whether to hold the box.
- Get warned after you ship. Add the tracking number and ColdLane watches it every day. If a delay or customs hold pushes the parcel outside its safe window, you and (optionally) your customer get a plain-language email.
- Have evidence if it still spoils. One click builds a claim-ready pack: forecast, tracking timeline, packaging used and the risk verdict at ship time, ready to print or save as PDF.
Works worldwide, with any carrier, in °C or °F and metric or imperial.
You can try it right now without signing up: the Bergen to Hamburg smoked salmon example is one click away on the demo page. Your first 3 checks are free after you create an account; then it's $9/month (up to 40 shipments) or $29/month (up to 200). Claim packs are $12 each.
One honest note: these are estimates. Forecasts change and carriers get delayed, so ColdLane helps you decide with better information but never promises your goods will arrive safe.
I'd love to hear what you ship, which lanes are hardest for you, and what would make this more useful. I'm here all day to answer questions. Thank you!
