Codex Echo is a quiet, native macOS work inbox for people running multiple Codex tasks. Live rings in the menu bar show what’s working, waiting for input or approval, completed, or blocked—and return you to the right task in one click. Keep Codex Capacity visible, explore its local history, and see where your current pace is headed before the next reset. Optional retro sci-fi voice announcements tell you when something changes. Monitoring is local and read-only.

I built Codex Echo after running several Codex tasks in parallel and realizing that the hard part wasn’t starting more work. It was noticing when a task needed me, understanding which project it belonged to, and returning without breaking focus.
Codex Echo turns the macOS menu bar into a quiet work inbox:
• Live rings show which tasks are working, waiting for input or approval, completed, or blocked
• Hover reveals the project, current activity, elapsed time, and active subagents
• One click returns you to the right task
• Codex Capacity stays visible in the menu bar
• Local history and a pace projection help you judge whether your Capacity will last until the next reset
• Optional spoken announcements report meaningful changes with a restrained retro sci-fi feel
Instead of asking you to watch another dashboard, Codex Echo keeps the signal at the edge of your desktop—and stays quiet when nothing needs you.
Monitoring is local and read-only. Codex Echo never sends replies or approvals on your behalf. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with OpenAI.
