Hi Product Hunt! I’m Engin, the maker of Chorono.
Chorono is a free, open-source 2D animation editor built around a simple idea: create with an agent, then keep control over the result.
Connect Claude or Codex through MCP to turn a prompt into an editable scene. Then refine the typography, shapes, motion paths, particles and keyframes in the visual editor.
You can also create animations manually, save a portable project and reopen it for your next revision. The editor runs locally on your computer.
The demo shows the initial creation process at 8× speed, followed by a refined clock animation.
I’d love feedback on two things:
• How easy is it to create and refine your first animation?
• What would make Chorono useful in your own workflow?

Thanks for taking a look!
The create-with-an-agent-then-keep-control split is the part that got me. Agent-generated motion is usually 80% there, and the last 20% is all keyframes and pacing — exactly where most tools lock you out. Does the MCP round-trip preserve manual keyframe tweaks when the agent re-edits a scene, or does a re-prompt overwrite the hand-tuned parts? That's the thing that would decide whether I'd trust it in a real workflow. Free, open source, and local makes it an easy try either way.
