A real-world aircraft collecting game: a radar shows the aircraft flying near you, and catching them builds a collection of aircraft types, registrations, airlines, airports and routes with XP, levels, streaks, curated sets and a spotting logbook.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I've always looked up when a plane flies over and wondered what it was, where it came from, and whether I'd ever seen that one before. Flight trackers answer the first two questions. None of them made me want to keep looking up. So I built CatchFlights.
It's a collecting game built on the real sky:
✈️ Radar – see airborne aircraft around you, tap one for type, registration, operator, route, altitude and speed (when available), then catch it.
📚 Collection – manufacturers, families, models, registrations, airlines, airports and routes, plus curated aircraft sets to complete.
⭐ Progression – XP, levels, daily streaks and achievements. Levels expand your radar and unlock perks like Fast Catch, Long Range and Automatic Catch.
🎯 Daily challenges – a Type Rating quiz, Dispatch assignments and a fly-off you can play against friends on the aircraft you've both caught.
🤝 Friends – catch the same aircraft as a friend within a day, wherever each of you is, and the relay earns you both XP.
🔭 Skywatch – a watch post that keeps looking while the app is closed and tells you when an aircraft you're still missing comes into range.
📓 Logbook – every catch on a list and a map.
A few honest notes: it's location-based, not a global flight tracker. Coverage and route/photo data depend on third-party sources and vary by place. You don't need an account; friends and Skywatch use an optional one that has no email and no password. Share cards never show your precise location.
I'd love to hear what you catch first, and what would make you open it again tomorrow.
