Hi Product Hunt! 👋 @Teddir here, the maker of CasYuk.
We all know the golden rule of lithium-ion batteries: keeping them between 20% and 80% doubles their lifespan. But let's be honest, we all forget to unplug our laptops, and boring tiny system notifications just don't work.
That's why I built CasYuk — an "Emotional Battery Management" tool that literally yells at you (via customizable meme videos) when it's time to plug or unplug! 🔋
✨ Key Features:
🛡️ Smart 80% Limiter: Automatically stops hardware charging at 80% (hardware dependent) to preserve battery health.
🎬 Chroma-Key Video Alerts: Replaces native notifications with transparent, full-screen video overlays that demand your attention.
🎨 Neo-Brutalist UI: A gorgeous, unapologetic, and punchy user interface.
⚡ Insanely Fast & Lightweight: Built on Tauri v2 + Rust. It consumes near-zero CPU/RAM while running silently in your system tray.
🔒 100% Offline & Private: No tracking, no cloud accounts.
You can try the core features completely for free. For power users, there's a lifetime Pro license that unlocks the smart 80% limiter and custom media uploads.
I’d love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or your favorite meme to use as a battery alert! Let me know what you think! Cheers! 🚀

honestly the meme takeover concept is hilarious but kind of feels like it'd get old fast if it interrupted real work meetings. what if you added a "focus mode" schedule that mutes the overlay during calendar events pulled from like google calendar or outlook, so it only fires when you're actually free to laugh at it
Haha fair point Eyüp! 😂 Getting jumpscared by a screaming cat while screen-sharing in a serious Zoom meeting sounds like a nightmare.
Right now there's just a manual "Pause" toggle in the tray menu for when you're in meetings, but pulling status from Google/Outlook calendar automatically is genuinely a genius idea.
I'm adding it to the roadmap right now. Thanks for checking out the app and dropping this idea man! 🙌
