Thanks for checking out CastIn2007. I built this because I miss the old internet, the simpler, more personal era where uploading a video felt exciting instead of algorithmic.
CastIn2007 recreates that feeling: a retro video platform with a 2007 style UI, no engagement traps, no modern stuff, just cool early web visuals.
I’d love feedback from anyone who tries it. Tell me what feels nostalgic, what feels off, and what you’d want to see next. Thanks for being here!

How does the video upload size and format work given the retro constraints, and is there a limit on storage per user or any paid tier for longer clips?
Right now uploads are pretty simple: MP4 works best, and the site handles normal video sizes fine. I’m keeping it lightweight so it still feels like the old internet, so no huge 4K stuff or anything crazy.
Also about storage, every user can upload a bunch of clips but I’m not doing hard limits at all. No paid tiers either, it’s all free at the moment. However my storage has 1GB max globally since I'm not expecting this to have many users, If it turns out this project blew up then I'd suggest to use URLs to publish videos, I just wanna keep it chill and let people post stuff without turning it into some big modern platform.
If things grow and people would want longer videos later, I’ll figure out a way to add that without breaking the retro feel.
