Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Akhil, the founder of CareerOps.
CareerOps started with a simple realization.
Every successful person can remember someone who changed the direction of their career—a teacher, a manager, a senior, a friend, or a mentor. Yet millions of students and young professionals still make life-changing career decisions without access to that kind of guidance.
We believe no career should depend on luck.
That's why we're starting differently.
Instead of building another marketplace, we're first bringing together the Founding 100—experienced professionals who genuinely want to give back and help shape the next generation.
This launch is the beginning of that mission.
I'd genuinely love your feedback.
Does the mission resonate with you?
What would make you trust a platform like this?
If you're an experienced professional, would you join the Founding 100?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from the Product Hunt community. ❤️

How do you actually verify professionals, and is the "private network" invite-only or can anyone in that first 100 group refer others later on?

@ezgiirru Great question, and one we've spent a lot of time thinking about.
Every professional is manually reviewed before being approved. For V1, we verify identity through their LinkedIn profile, current company, role, experience, and overall credibility. The goal is to prioritize trust and quality over scale.
Anyone can join to become part of CareerOps we don't want great professionals to feel excluded. However, we're intentionally limiting our Founding 100 to the first 100 professionals who align with our mission and complete the onboarding process.
Once the Founding 100 is complete, we'll continue onboarding professionals in future cohorts as CareerOps grows. Our goal is to build a trusted community first, then scale it thoughtfully.

How does the verification process actually work in practice, and is it something that has to be renewed periodically or is it a one-time check?

@arzuy8sz Great question! For our initial launch, verification is a one-time manual review. Every applicant is evaluated through their LinkedIn profile, current role, professional experience, and overall credibility to ensure they genuinely align with our mission.
As CareerOps grows, we'll introduce periodic re-verification for professionals who change roles, companies, or have inactive profiles, helping us keep the community trusted and up to date.
We're intentionally starting manually because, at this stage, quality matters more than scale. We believe trust is the foundation of a great professional network.

Love that you limited it to 100 people, makes the whole "verified" and "meaningful" part actually feel real instead of just another bloated network promising the world.

@abdulkadir97114 Thank you, that means a lot! That was a very intentional decision. We didn't want to launch with thousands of profiles and compromise on trust. We'd rather start with 100 professionals who genuinely want to help than build a large network without meaningful connections. Once we get the foundation right, we'll expand thoughtfully while keeping trust at the center of everything we build.
