tl;dr After experiencing an unforgettable virtual event and finding the company’s website totally missed the Ah-Ha I felt while using the product. The disconnect stuck with me. So I launched Capture60 to help brands make their first 60 seconds unforgettable. I know most start-up founders are builders, and they don't have time to optimize messaging without sacrificing something else. We will help you optimize that messaging: Every month you get a progress report and a few specific actions our team thinks will help improve your Ah-Ha!
Why I Started Capture60: Turning First Impressions into Lasting Impact
It all started with a Zoom call and a suspiciously enthusiastic trivia host.
Now, I know that sounds like the beginning of a corporate training session gone wrong, but stick with me. The call was part of a virtual team-building experience I had somewhat reluctantly joined, expecting the usual: awkward icebreakers, overly chipper facilitators, and at least one person who never figured out how to unmute.
But this? This was something else.
From the moment it started, it was electric. The host was part game show emcee, part hype machine, part wizard of engagement. My coworkers -previously known for their polite nodding and strategic camera-off approaches -were suddenly laughing, competing, connecting like humans who might actually enjoy working together.
It was, in a word, mind-bending. I left that Zoom call feeling energized, surprised, and maybe even a little inspired. It was the kind of experience that makes you rethink what virtual interaction can be. Naturally, I did what any curious, moderately caffeinated person would do: I went to the company’s website to learn more about the folks behind this delightful digital wizardry.
And what did I find?
Nothing. Well, not nothing, but close. A few corporate platitudes, vague service descriptions, a homepage that looked like it had been designed on a budget of two clip art tokens and a prayer. Their site didn’t just undersell the experience, it completely failed to communicate what made it great. No spark. No flavor. No hint of the controlled chaos and charisma that had just unfolded onscreen.
And that’s when it clicked.
Companies are out there creating genuinely magical experiences, things that surprise, delight, and occasionally cause mild existential reflection on a Tuesday morning Zoom call. But when it comes time to tell the story of those experiences? They flub it. The magic evaporates somewhere between the live event and the landing page.
That’s why I started Capture60.
I wanted to help companies capture the magic of that first 60 seconds -the first impression, the first click, the first moment of Wait, this is actually fun. Because when done right, those first moments don’t just explain your product or service -they make people feel it. I know most start-up are builders, and they don't have time to optimize messaging without sacrificing something else. We will help you optimize that messaging: Every month you get a progress report and a few specific actions our team thinks will help improve your Ah-Ha!
Capture60 exists to help brands distill what makes them extraordinary into messaging that actually communicates it. Not just bullet points and buzzwords, but real clarity. Real story. Real connection.
