CaptionKit - the ultimate app for creating captions for your videos quickly and effortlessly. With CaptionKit, you can easily add subtitles to any video in just a few steps.
Hello, dear Product Hunters!
👋 My name is Viktor Seraleev, and I’m a indie mobile developer. Today, I want to share some exciting news about my latest app!
🎯 85% of people watch videos without sound, and simply adding captions can boost your social media reach. That’s why I created CaptionKit - a powerful AI-driven app for generating captions automatically.
💪 This is my third time starting from scratch. The first time, I sold an app for $410,000. The second time, I was making $3,000 a day, but then Apple shut down my account. I filed a lawsuit and began rebuilding.
🚀 CaptionKit is a project I started 4 years ago, but only now have I brought it to launch - and it turned out awesome! With CaptionKit, you can easily create captions for your videos.
Here are the app’s key features:
- 17+ ready-made templates
- Own video rendering technology
- AI-powered captions in just seconds
- Pre-made text styles
- Over 100 fonts
- Customizable style settings
- Translation of captions into 100+ languages
- The ability to create your own caption style
I’d love your support! It’s tough to come back and start all over again. Looking forward to your feedback 👉 https://captionkit.app
P.S. This is first version. Coming in the next 3 weeks:
- Merge and split captions with ease
- Manually adjust word duration
- Auto-enhance audio: remove noise and echo
- Control audio volume
- Add stickers, GIFs, and text
@okhlopkov Hi, Daniil! Great comment! In the first version, our main advantage is the font selection. We developed many of the fonts by hand and ensured support for most Eastern European languages. We added characters that CapCut and other competitors only support in the English version of their fonts. Please bear with us, as this is our first app version. We’ll be rolling out many exciting new animations and effects soon, which you won’t find in other apps

💡 Bright idea
Impressive. Nowadays products for content creator are easier to find PMF, your app looks promising. Any plan for a web/PC version? As creators often work in desktop environments.
@hackerqed Hi, thanks for your support! Honestly, this is the first request for a web version - I hadn’t thought about it before. Thanks for the great idea!
Congrats! These font animations are very smooth! They are very necessary when making promotional videos, but CaptionKit seems that currently there is only an iOS version. I would like to know your future plans, will there be support for a web version or desktop application?
@zenda1122 Hi, thanks for the comment! Today, this is already the second request for a web version. It looks like I might need to reconsider my roadmap:)
Hi Viktor, CaptionKit sounds fantastic! It's impressive to see the variety of features packed into the app. How easy is it for a beginner to get started with adding captions?
@alex_dulub Hi, Alex! Thank you for your comment! In all of my projects, I follow one main principle: step-by-step. CaptionKit is simple, and you can create beautiful captions in just a few steps.

Impressive add on features! With so many fonts and template selections, I'm wondering if the app offer any tools for batch processing or bulk editing of videos to save time for creators working with large volumes of content?
@angela_ni2 Hi, Angela! Thanks for your valuable comment! I hadn’t considered that there might be such a need. It would be interesting to test this idea in future updates.

Congrats on the launch! I've been using similar products, and I always face a common issue. There are some videos where the captions aren't accurate (some miss just a bit and some miss by a mile). How good is CaptionKit when it comes to detecting the speech to text?
