Hi!
Campfire has been my passion project for years, but it recently has been rewritten from scratch. My main goal here is to gather feedback, and make it the best companion app on the stage or, well, around a campfire.
As a hobby musician and professional software engineer, this app contains everything I wanted to see on my music stand: besides keeping my song library organized and easy to use, it helps me manage setlists, share them within the band via a simple QR codes, export PDF files, transpose songs on the spot, display chord diagrams, and even recommend scales that I can use for improvisation. A tuner and a metronome are also included. While I'm mainly a guitar player, the chord diagrams / scales / tuner support other instumrents too (bass, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, keyboard), even in custom tunings.
A lot of work went into adding ways to help people import their existing music collection, or just copy songs from websites which the app will automatically transcribe into the open ChordPro format it uses under the hood. ABC notation is also supported for nicely engraved sheet music, as well as tabs for fretted instruments.
UX/UI has been an important aspect too, that being my main problem with similar, established apps. The appearance and functionality are both customizable: there is an accent color picker for the light, dark, and (adjustable) sepia themes, and people can turn off entire features they don't want to see, to keep the app uncluttered and intuitive to use.
You can edit your music collection on one device and see it automatically synced (in real-time) to your other devices via your own Dropbox account - Campfire doesn't have a server of its own. It's also completely free, and doesn't contain any tracking, advertisement, or paid features, being fully open-sourced under the Mozilla Public License 2.0
It's published for Android, iOS/iPadOS, macOS and Windows via the official stores, and the latest Linux builds can always be downloaded from the project's GitHub page.
