I started Camilla PowerMill to keep AI assistance close to the actual CAM project: its context, supported operations and the engineer’s review of the result.
The free PowerMill plugin can work independently of Camilla MES. There are local/server model configurations and a separate ChatGPT Work plugin with a local executor. My current local setup uses a 27B model, but that is not the only possible model size. The current PowerMill panel is 3.0.6 and the Work package is 2.0.4.
The gallery includes the plugin interface with an illustrative CAM scene and a workflow diagram. This is an active development project; engineers review the model, tools, calculated toolpaths, collisions and NC output in PowerMill.
I would welcome feedback from CAM engineers on which project context and review steps make an assistant most useful. For availability and setup, contact me through the project website.
