Hey Friends! In the last half of 2020, I made Cake as a side project when I saw lots of friends and family struggling to collect videos and edit them to make a simple video to surprise them on their special occasion. I spent a few weeks putting together an MVP and launched it to friends and family in October of 2020. Cake lets you collect videos and (if you want) money towards one epic group gift. You can upload videos directly on the platform, or edit something fun on Tik Tok, Instagram Reels or Snapchat and upload that instead. The special guy or gal then gets all the videos served up to them in a Story-like format, and if you contributed towards a gift, they get their choice of any gift cards they want. They can then upload their own reply / thank you video and the whole thing gets sent to everyone who took part. Fast forward to today, I still haven’t really marketed it at all but thousands of people have used it to send birthday wishes, thank you messages, anniversary greetings, and so on. It’s been so amazing to see what people have done with it! Would love feedback and to have more people receive these as gifts. It’s hard to articulate how special people feel when they get surprised that dozens of friends and family recorded special video messages for their special day. It is the easiest tool to send grouped wishes, especially when you group of friends is spread around the world and is comprised of people who are not all super tech savvy! 💯/10, I haven't stopped talking about it to my friends!

Super convenient and simple app that allows you to take any celebration virtual. We were able to gather videos from dozens of friends to send to my sister and she absolutely loved getting it all at the same time.
