I'm Akshay, founder of Burnshot. Eight months ago I posted here with a simple self-destructing image tool. Today I'm back with something much bigger.
The insight that changed everything: I can't stop a determined leaker. No web app can. But I can make leaking pointless for the 99% of cases where you trust the recipient but don't trust the infrastructure β their inbox, their cloud backup, their corporate servers.
π How the zero-knowledge part actually works:
Files encrypt in your browser before upload using AES-256-GCM. The decryption key lives in the URL hash (#key). Browsers never send URL hashes to servers by design. So our database contains only encrypted binary β we physically cannot read your files, even if compelled.
