I built BugNBrag because I wanted to create something useful that other people could actually use. Like many developers, I have a long list of project ideas. Most never make it past the idea stage. Sprint retrospectives seemed like a problem space where I could build something practical, learn along the way, and hopefully create a tool that teams would find helpful. The original goal wasn't to build the most feature-rich retrospective platform. It was to build something simple. Create a session, share a code, and start collaborating. As the project evolved, I kept focusing on reducing friction instead of adding complexity. That led to decisions like no account requirement, built-in templates, anonymous participation, real-time collaboration, and more recently the Icebreaker Wheel. So far, the only team using BugNBrag regularly has been my own. That experience has been invaluable because real users always interact with a product differently than you expect when you're building it. Participating in retrospectives is one thing; watching people use a tool you built to run them is something entirely different. I'm launching BugNBrag to get feedback from other Scrum Masters, agile teams, and anyone who runs retrospectives. I'd love to hear what works, what doesn't, and what would make the tool more useful for your team.

This is a very practical product. I like the focus on reducing setup friction instead of making retrospectives feel like another heavy process.

How are you planning to handle follow-up action items across multiple retrospectives without requiring user accounts?

Thanks! That's something I've been thinking about a lot.

My goal is to keep BugNBrag account-free while still helping teams maintain continuity between retrospectives.

The first step was adding Follow-Up items. Scrum Masters can pin important cards, and those follow-ups are automatically surfaced in future retrospectives so teams can review previous commitments before starting a new session.

I'm also experimenting with team-based continuity using team codes rather than user accounts. That would allow retrospectives to stay connected over time while keeping the setup simple and preserving the "join with a link and start immediately" experience.

I'm trying to find the balance between useful long-term tracking and the simplicity that makes BugNBrag fast to use in the first place.

BugNBrag Update: Previous Sprint Follow-Ups

Hello everyone,
I've been working on one of the most requested improvements since launch.

You can now pin cards as Follow-Ups, and they'll automatically appear at the top of the next retrospective for the same team. No more digging through notes to remember action items from the previous sprint.

This update also includes:

Team Codes for recurring teams
Better returning session experience
"What's New" page
Various UI improvements and fixes
