Let's be completely transparent: banking apps already do a solid job of categorizing transactions into neat pie charts. But they are completely static. When you want specific, cross-category answers—like "How much did I actually spend on coffee and food delivery on weekends last month?" or "Where can I realistically trim 3,000 UAH without ruining my lifestyle?"—you are back to manual spreadsheet calculations.

I built Brio AI to turn messy bank statements into an interactive conversation. Drop your raw CSV or XLSX export, and get an AI assistant that holds your exact transaction data in context.

Format Scope & Ingestion:

Brio AI currently features dedicated presets for Monobank, PrivatBank, and Raiffeisen, alongside a Universal Parser designed to dynamically map transaction schemas across other banks operating in Ukraine (Ukrainian-language statements).

Key architectural decisions under the hood:

Zero Math Hallucinations: Large language models struggle with arithmetic. I integrated custom function-calling calculation tools so the agent deterministically computes sums, averages, and comparisons instead of guessing.
Multi-Tier Categorization & DB Caching: Instead of burning tokens, transactions run through MCC codes, then Rapidfuzz matching for messy vendor strings, and check our DB cache for previously resolved descriptions. OpenAI is invoked strictly as a fallback for novel vendors, cutting LLM latency and API costs by ~90%.
Enterprise Privacy via Microsoft Presidio: Before any transaction is analyzed or stored, our pipeline runs Presidio to detect and redact all PII (names, IBANs, card numbers, locations). Zero raw file persistence. The ingestion pipeline strips all document headers in-memory, ensuring only sanitized transaction data and Presidio-anonymized descriptions ever reach the database or OpenAI.
