What do you think? …

Hey Product Hunters! πŸ‘‹ I’m super excited to share with you the platform I’m building called BreakCode. Here is the problem I had, and the solution I thought of: πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ Problem Tutorial hell. Being a self-taught software engineer, I tend to finish coding tutorials or Udemy courses in record time. And thought that I’m finally acquired this new skill and ready to move on to another new coding tutorial. However, when I really try to write the code for myself, I feel so overwhelmed and don’t even know where and how to start. So what did I do that time? I went for another tutorial. After finishing that tutorial and trying to start something again, I feel like I don’t know what to do again. Then, start a new tutorial, finish it, and the same loop again. Does this sound familiar to you too? πŸ’‘ Solution Realistic coding challenge without lengthy tutorial. After 2 years of experience being a software engineer, I finally realised that hands-on practice is far more effective than watching tutorials. The best way of learning is by doing. So I thought, maybe I can build a platform to gather realistic coding challenges created by developers around the world. The challenges will be closed to real-world projects instead of building a dummy app which is not a realistic solution. Developers who want to learn new coding skill or to strengthen their existing skill can utilise this platform to hunt for a different type of coding challenge for themselves. Also, Udemy instructors, Youtubers, open-source developers, or anyone who wants to host coding challenge for their students, can make use of this platform to benefit more developers. They can publish their solution on this platform to benefit more developers as well as learning how to review other developer solution too. There will also be leaderboard for developers to compete with each other. How does the platform sound to you? πŸ˜„ BreakCode is currently in the Preview version πŸš€ , it’s not fully functional yet. But I’m building it every day during my free time, hoping it will benefit more developers out there. So, do take a look and let me know what you think! I am here to answer all your questions and concerns regarding BreakCode. Cheers! Vincent
