I was a ChatGPT Plus subscriber and I used the service every single day, until I realized that even though I needed the most powerful models available, I wasn't capping out my usage on my plus subscription, so I turned to their pay-as-you-go API where I found a cool website I could plug my API key into and use it like ChatGPT. This was costing me around $10/mo, half of what the ChatGPT plus subscription was costing me, but this site was lacking features so I looked around to find an app that supported both non-linear chat and vision (image upload) but the only ones I found either had clunky UIs, or required a one-time payment to use, something which in retrospective, I think would be easier than spending months building my own service 😅. I started developing the app with personal usage in mind, but then I thought maybe others could benefit from this too, so I implemented a simple pay-as-you-go based credit system. Today, the website has several (!!) paying users and I'm very happy other people are getting value from something I made.
