Explore a vast selection of playlists, pick your favorite and dive right in. All you need is an active Apple Music subscription. Play for a top spot in the international leaderboards, locally in a group or in a time shifted duel against a friend.
Hey there! 😊
This game is just what you expect from a "name that tune" style game. You hear a song and have to select or say the correct answer.
In the duel and single player mode you have to listen to a song and select the correct title out of 4 possible answers as quickly as possible.
In the classic singleplayer mode you play games of 15 to 60 songs in which you try to top the international leaderboard of each playlist.
In the duel mode you play remotely against a friend over five playlists which you select alternately with seven songs each. At the end you can crown a winner and the right to talk shit about your opponent.
In the multiplayer mode you play locally with friends and have to hit a buzzer if you think you know the song. Then you have to say or scream the answer out loud and you manually select if the answer was correct. The rules are set by you and your friends as well.
The design is simplistic and I tried to keep it similar to Apples.
It's available only for Apple Music subscriber, as Spotify chose to disallow the usage of their API for this type of use. (After they bought and got rid of Heardle if you remember)
The app has In-App purchases, but you can play it casually for free. You start with 10 tickets and get 3 for free each day. Each game requires one ticket or a pass, except for a duel, there you spend one ticket for 5 games/playlists. For some interactions, like a recruited friend, you will also receive extra tickets.
In most cases, thats enough. If you want to play more, you can support my work and buy tickets or the full access for the price of a medium large sandwich.
I even got one of these origin stories that nobody ever asks for, so hear me out, its slightly interesting! Me and my partner (ex-partner, thats why I have the time to do some marketing for my product 🥲) were a bit tipsy one night and she wanted to do something and searched for music guessing games on YouTube.
And there is a whole genre of quiz videos there, even if it is not interactive and really not that entertaining. It really surprised me. So I thought it would be fun if you could actually take part in the game and looked around a bit.
There is only one valid alternative, SongPop, but they are a profit maximizing Facebook game company and not really what I was looking for.
So I built an iPad version for my freelance portfolio, but it turned out to be way more entertaining to build a music app, where I can mix two of my passions, than to start my freelance work. So now I am here and try to make something more out of this product. Anyways, in the beginning I used the iTunes preview files as the playing song snippets, so nobody is restricted in using the app. Well that turned out to be not that legal so I stopped it a few month afterwards. But the feedback was really positive, so I thought that could work for Apple Music subscribers as well and still would be a valid business if scaled correctly. Well, we will see.
Let me know what you think and if something is missing in the app! And maybe you have some ideas how I can market this game? As an indie developer, that seems to be the hardest part and I know there are some experienced marketing people around, maybe they can leave some ideas. :)
Thank you! 🙏
