Bolt is a fork of opencode that has been changed so much it barely resembles the original anymore — new agents, new animations, way faster, and it actually reads config from every major AI tool out there instead of just its own. Built for people who are sick of terminal AI agents that slow down over time and look boring the whole way through. Bolt fixes both of those problems, and it keeps getting faster, smarter, and much better looking with every single new release that it ships out today.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
So this is Bolt — a fork of opencode that I've made a ton of changes to over the past few days.
I started messing with opencode because I kept hitting the same walls every time I used it for a while: it'd slow down the longer a session went, it never looked like anything, and it didn't play nice with the other AI tool configs I already had sitting in my projects. So I just started fixing all of that myself.
A few days later, this happened. New agents (debug, refactor, security, docs, perf, and more — not just one generic mode), way better animations, faster under the hood, and it now reads config from basically every major AI tool convention out there instead of just its own.
This is a solo project, built fast, and it's still very early — which honestly is the fun part. I want to know what breaks, what's missing, what feels off, all of it. I'm in the comments all day, so throw anything at me.
If you try it and it saves you time or just feels good to use, that's genuinely all I wanted out of this. Thanks for checking it out. 🚀
