Apple Watch has an hourly Chimes feature under Accessibility. macOS never got one; the closest built-in option reads the clock aloud in a synthetic voice. Bird Chimes fills that gap. On the hour, a real bird recording plays from your menu bar. Choose 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or hourly. 18 recordings played at random, Quiet Hours, and automatic silence during Focus modes. macOS 14+, 20 languages.

Apple Watch has a Chimes feature (Settings → Accessibility → Chimes) that marks the top of every hour. macOS never got an equivalent. The closest built-in option reads the clock aloud in a synthetic voice, which interrupts rather than marks.
I built Bird Chimes to fill that gap. My brother is blind and uses VoiceOver, and he uses it daily. Hearing the hour instead of going to check the time is the whole point.
