I’m Alexander, product owner and developer of billmatic.
We built billmatic because invoicing in Germany is changing fast — but many small businesses are still not ready. A recent German survey found that only 42% of companies regularly send e-invoices, while many still rely on Word, Excel, PDFs, or outdated billing workflows.
At the same time, Germany is moving toward structured B2B e-invoicing. That gap is what motivated us to build billmatic.
billmatic started as an internal tool, but quickly became a full invoicing and accounting solution for freelancers, agencies, founders, and small businesses in Germany.
Our goal is simple: make invoicing one less thing to worry about.
With billmatic, users can create quotes, invoices, ZUGFeRD e-invoices, payment reminders, incoming invoice workflows, and DATEV exports in one cloud-based workflow.
We want to make Word and Excel invoices disappear — not by adding more complexity, but by making digital invoicing easier, faster, and more practical for everyday businesses.
We also built billmatic with integration in mind. The API allows companies to connect invoicing and e-invoicing workflows to existing systems, internal tools, and custom business processes. It also powers integrations such as
PageBot, where users can create invoices through chat.
