What do you think? …

@tristanwalker First off, congrats on the launch! I've been following Bevel for a while now and I use the razor constantly. Do you have plans to add attachments to the new trimmers? I don't use a trimmer, but I use a set of clippers to buzz my hair a few times a week. It'd be dope to be able to add an attachment for different lengths.

@napoleonsuarez thanks and glad you asked! we're launching with the first blade set which aims to deliver a closer shave and line up. The blade has a built-in adjustment (tool-free Bevel Dial) to be able to zero gap. However, we definitely have cutting hair to different lengths on our roadmap! stay tuned.

@mirmanwar @napoleonsuarez I'll +1 for attachments for bearded folks...When you guys get to that portion of the roadmap, I'll definitely be a customer! Sweet design and features, Tristan.

@mirmanwar @napoleonsuarez does this mean we can buy this version and get an attachment for different lengths later or should we wait for the next version?

I'm wondering what is the difference between this trimmer and an Andis. I've always used Andis and on the few emergencies when I would have to get an Oster for the power. Can you talk more about the "zero-gap"? One of the biggest problems I have is every new Andis trimmer. I always have to adjust the blade. Because it does not give that "krispy" look at factory settings.

@dredurr thanks for your question! the Bevel Trimmer provides a high power cut and is capable of doing so even when used cordless. The power remains constant through out the battery run time (4 hrs+) and it holds charge for up to 60 days. This provides you with a powerful tool on the go even when you travel without having to worry about packing long unwieldy cords and chargers. The zero gap adjustment (closest cut setting) on most products in market rely on using tools to removing screws and aligning the two blades on flat surface before screwing them back together. Not only is this time consuming, but is imprecise and requires juggling blades, screws and tools. With the Bevel Dial (check it out here: getbevel.com/trimmer), you snap off the blade and can quickly spin the Bevel Dial to zero gap within seconds (maybe less!) and then snap it back on. Time saved and perfect alignment every single time!

@mirmanwar Oh man! This is a game changer. I've never had a trimmer I didn't need to adjust. In fact I didn't even think they existed. 🙃

Definitely going to pre-order. I've had to replace my Norelco 7300 2 times now (I love it, but at this point I'm not going to buy a third replacement for $60) and I want something that will last. Congrats on the launch.

@rajamatage Can't wait to welcome you to the family!

@rajamatage thank you for the support!!

Just wanted to comment on how sleek and dope this looks! Feels like something that would come out of the golden age of Braun. I would love to hear more about who/how this was designed?
Mari Sheibley
@danielrakh Thanks Daniel! We started with observations of users, both barbers and individuals. We asked them questions and watched them use their existing trimmers. Our goal was to try and understand pain points and latent needs. Once research was completed, the same Industrial Designer (Martin Bone) who designed our Bevel Razor put together a creative brief with basic creative territories he was going to explore. He went to work concepting various forms that solved the problems we observed in our research phase while trying to hold true to our existing Bevel design language. From that exploration came the groundwork of the final trimmer. The design was very much based on the evolution of the legacy trimmers you see today and we wanted to weave that narrative into everything we did for the trimmer. We worked with Martin to iterate on the form, choosing the right materials for both brand consistency, and more importantly, function. Small trade off had to be made for engineering, but for the most part we were able to hold true to the original vision.
Daniel.
@mari18 thanks for the in depth response! There's so much info on how software products are made its great to hear about the design process for hardware as well for a change!

1. Is the trimmer versatile for head shaving as well? 2. If someone were to purchase the trimmer now, can the attachment heads be purchased separate later on?
Lynn Fredricks
@eli_s_kami My question as well - how well would it stack up against Skull Shaver?
ᴹᴵᴿ
@eli_s_kami Hi Eli! Thanks for your questions! 1. It can definitely be used for head shaving. The optimal use for the blade set that come with it at launch is: close shaves (face and head), line ups and trimming between zero gap (super close) and backed up to what most trimmers are set at out-of-box. 2. Yep, for sure. The modular design lends itself to having extra batteries and different blade sets. Those would be purchasable separately eventually.

So cool - best of luck to the Bevel team even though they don't need it at all!
tristan walker
@andythegiant Thanks Andy! You getting yourself a trimmer? We've gotta get you involved!

How much do blade replacements cost? I normally buy a new set of clippers when things get dull
ᴹᴵᴿ
@anderson760 thanks Joe! we'll be releasing individual part pricing soon. However, we've utilized hardened steel for the blades with professional usage frequency in mind and are confident that for an individual user the blades should last a long time!
