Hey Product Hunt - I built BEST because I was frustrated. I love tracking what I watch, but Letterboxd always felt clunky to me — the social side, the part I actually cared about, was buried behind a rough experience. Meanwhile I'm obsessed with Beli for restaurants: that head-to-head "which did you like more?" ranking just works, and it's fun with friends. So I made the app I wanted: Beli, but for everything you play, watch, and hear. No hollow 5-star ratings — you rank things against each other, and it builds a true list of your taste. The whole point is doing it with your friends: shared lists that merge into one consensus ranking. The biggest shift while building was realizing the ranking mechanic wasn't the hard part — getting people to the social features fast was. That's the exact friction that annoyed me elsewhere, so it became the thing I obsessed over. Would genuinely love your feedback — especially on where the social flow feels good vs. where it drags.

the head-to-head ranking approach is genuinely clever, way more useful than star ratings that always flatten everything to the middle. love that it pulls from steam and letterboxd so i'm not starting from scratch.
