Hi all!
In a world dominated by fast food and standardized flavors, we often lose sight of the stories, history, and craft behind what’s on our plates. Discover Bengodi, a project built with passion and designed to map authentic food across the world.
Bengodi wants to be more than just a social app for foodies; the target is to become a living archive of culinary heritage. Whether it's a secret family recipe passed down for generations or a hidden-gem local producer in your neighborhood, Bengodi helps you document, share, and preserve the traditions that define us.
Why you should join Bengodi?
- Preserve Traditions: Record your family’s unique culinary history so those priceless recipes and methods aren’t lost to time.
- Know your food neighbourhood: Explore local producers and authentic, regional food through a geo-focused lens.
- Real Connections: Join a community that values food as identity, not just fuel.
Bengodi was born out of a desire to celebrate the rich tapestry of global food culture. We’re just getting started and would love for you to join us in building this community.
We'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
This is such a lovely idea, love that I can find local producers near me on a map instead of just chains. Tried it yesterday and ended up chatting with an older guy about his grandmother's bread recipe, which felt really special.
this sounds like such a cool idea, especially the map for finding local producers. one thing that would honestly make it way better is letting users record short video demos of their family recipes right in the app. text instructions are fine but watching grandma actually make the dough or fold the dumplings is kind of the whole point of preserving those traditions, you know
