BackTheVibes connects independent artists, fans, and DJs directly — no label, no algorithmic royalty pool. Fans direct a monthly membership straight to artists they follow (artists keep 80%). DJs license tracks directly from the artist — real terms, a real e-signed agreement, artist keeps 85% — instead of an informal "DJ pool" download with no rights attached. Artists publish for a flat £29.99/year, not a percentage of earnings. Everyone sees exactly where the money came from.
Hey everyone 👋
I built BackTheVibes because the two sides of independent music that matter most — getting paid, and getting your music used properly — were both broken in the same way: buried under algorithms and middlemen neither side could see into.
Streaming pays independent artists fractions of a cent, split by an opaque pool. And DJs clearing tracks were stuck choosing between informal downloads with no real rights attached, or radio silence from an artist they couldn't easily reach.
So BackTheVibes does both directly: fans put a monthly membership behind the artists they actually follow (artists keep 80%), and DJs license tracks straight from the artist — real terms, a real e-signed agreement, artist keeps 85%. No label, no aggregator, no black box.
Would love your feedback — especially from anyone who's tried to license a track for a set the "proper" way and hit a wall.
