Audax Data Manager is an open-source database manager that's quick for everyday queries and edits, and deep when you need more. Works with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle and SQLite on Linux, Windows and Mac. Write SQL faster with smart autocomplete, find slow queries with visual profiling, understand your schema in an ERD, fix data in a spreadsheet-style editor. Connect via SSH tunnels. For PostgreSQL: manage roles and extensions, tune servers, run backups, watch performance.

Hey ProductHunt Community! 👋
My name is Eugene and I am leading a small developer team at Command Prompt, Inc.
We're excited (and a bit nervous) to share Audax Data Manager with you, our first launch here.
The story: We kept running into the same problem with database tools: some are great for a quick peek and a simple edit, others are great for the heavy lifting, and very few do both.
Audax Data Manager is our attempt at both: quick and simple for daily tasks, with a real toolkit when you need it.
Who it's for: developers who want a snappy client for daily queries and edits, and DBAs who need profiling, tuning and admin tools in the same app.
✨ What's in it:
Multi-database support: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle and SQLite
Smart editing: schema- and context-aware autocomplete, query errors annotated at the exact spot, spreadsheet-style data editor, fuzzy search for database objects
Performance: visual query profiling (EXPLAIN) and a monitoring dashboard
PostgreSQL admin: roles and extensions, server parameter tuning, backups
ERD: cardinality markers, relation highlighting, smart edge routing, snap-to-grid, image export
Connectivity: SSH tunnels for DB connection and a built-in SSH terminal, multiple concurrent workspaces
Convenience: copy table data as Markdown, JSON or CSV, light and dark themes, UI scaling, keyboard navigation
Privacy-first: zero telemetry, credentials encrypted at rest, and the source is on GitHub.
There are two editions of Audax Data Manager:
Community is free and open source (desktop, works offline). It is not a second-class application, it is a full-featured toolkit and our contribution to the open-source community.
Enterprise edition is built on top of Community and adds IAM database authentication, browser access and multi-user with OAuth2 for teams with more enterprise features to come. It can be deployed in AWS via Amazon Marketplace or on-prem with Docker.
PgManage got some attention on Hacker News a couple of years ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41024576). The project has come a long way since then. We've improved support for databases beyond the Postgres family, hence the rebrand, and now it's time to bring it to a broader audience.
Where we'd love your help:
Try it out, tell us what you think: which features you may want. Any friction points in the UI?
Which platform/OS do you use?
Which databases do you use for your projects?
Praise it or roast it. We read every reply.
If Audax Data Manager is useful to you, a star on GitHub or a social media share is always appreciated. 🙏
