Over the past year, I kept running into an annoying problem at live shows — sometimes I needed to drop an AU plugin (de-esser, de-feedback, compression) directly into the signal chain on stage, without a DAW and without unnecessarily loading down the system.
So I built my own app for it — AU Host. It's a lightweight host for AU plugins on Mac, connects into your audio chain through any Core Audio device, and has 8 slots (mono/stereo) where you configure each one separately — input/output channel, on/off.
Just set and forget
The app is paid (€5, one-time), but there's a free demo with no feature limits — just a 15-minute runtime limit and no preset saving, so anyone can try it for real before paying for it.
