Beat the market with 90+ datasets and AI made for analysis
Find investment opportunities before everyone else does. Athenic provides $50,000 of licensed institutional stock data plus AI specialized for analysis. Screen for advanced filters in plain English, get alerted on news or price moves, and automate deep-dive fundamentals research.
I'm Jared. We started Athenic as a data analysis tool for businesses, and we’re lucky enough to have BMW and many others as our customers. A few months ago, I suddenly had the idea to connect raw stock market data, which was pretty much just a personal want.
What shocked me was how impressive the analysis was, and how quickly it became a part of my investment routine: chat to validate my thesis then automate alerts for my watchlists. I can now evaluate all of my stock picks from all angles just by asking AI.
Given how valuable it already was for me, we decided to take it to the next level. Over the last couple months, we spent $50,000 to license over 90+ datasets, and we’re making it all free (yahoo finance / others charge for data access, and have far fewer data sources).
I’m super excited to launch Athenic Finance. Comment any questions or welcome to our community on Discord. And super appreciate your feedback!

@jared_zhao how deep does the segment-level revenue breakdown go for large conglomerates? well nice launch
@vikramp7470It depends on the company and what they report in their 10-Ks, but it generally captures product categories. Apple (AAPL) for example breaks down their categories into: iPhones, Macs, iPads, Wearables and Home Accessories, and Services.

@jared_zhao nice launch! the 90+ database is a lot of data work with.
how do you make sure the ai still give useful answer when separate database point in different directions?
@atul15 Thanks! And agreed that 90+ datasets is alot. I think that that's exactly the value of the platform though. When you make investments, you'd want to see all the different points of view so that you can make the most educated investments.
For example, if a company is generating high free cash flow, but the stock price is low, then it's an automatic buy, right? Not necessarily if analysts rate the company low, the news is bearish, and even their own earnings calls forecast revenue decline, say, to AI impact or something similar.
I think getting all of the different perspectives in one place is ultimately incredibly valuable so you're not making half-baked decisions.
The jump from a general data analysis tool to something you’d actually use for your own investment research is really interesting. $50k of licensed market data + being able to just ask questions in plain English feels like a very practical way to make deep research less painful. Curious to see how people end up using this day to day
@suryansh_tiwari2 Thanks for the feedback! That's exactly the pain we felt just using Claude + web search.

This looks really useful — connecting raw stock market data directly into investment workflows is exactly the kind of friction point that slows a lot of analysts down. Clean data pipelines like this can save serious time. Congrats on the launch, excited to see where this goes! 🚀
@kurt_zabriskie Thanks for the feedback! We did feel like there's still too much just spreadsheeting in investment analysis today -- certainly the pain point that I felt in my own analysis. Hope you have a good experience in Athenic!
