You can explore nearly 1 million visible stars and 88 constellations, tap any star, and leave a short note or memory. Your notes can remain private or be shared with the Astar community. With Astar, you can: ✨ Explore an interactive 3D night sky 📝 Leave public or private notes on any star 🌍 Discover tonight’s, recent, and trending messages ❤️ Like meaningful notes and save them to your journal ⭐ Give an unclaimed star a personal name and dedication Star names are reviewed before appearing in the shared sky. To be completely transparent, these names exist only inside Astar’s community catalog. They are not recognized by the International Astronomical Union or any scientific organization, and no celestial object is being sold. In our first version, naming stars on your personal star map is free. I’d love your honest feedback on the experience, especially the balance between private memories and public discovery. Milkyway Visual Development

In the app, NASA s most detailed image of the Milky Way, taken against a backdrop of stars, is currently being used by removing the stars and recreating them within the app based on the positions of 1 million stars at their actual locations. This allows for a view with 40K pixel detail. If you have any ideas for improving it, I d love to hear them. It was developed using Metal technology on iOS and OpenGL on Android.
