ApiTab is a fast, local-first API client — download the desktop app or browser extension, sign in, and your collections sync automatically across your team.

how does the sync work under the hood, is it peer to peer or going through your servers, and is there any self hosted option for teams that keep everything air gapped?
@gnlsincarytnm Currently, sync works through ApiTab's own server. Self-hosted sync may be available in a future release. In the meantime, you can still share collections locally by exporting and importing them.
Love how snappy the local-first setup feels, really nice for offline work. One thing I'd kill for is a built-in diff view for comparing responses across environments — like staging vs prod — without having to export and line things up manually. Would save me a ton of time when debugging.
@serdarurim Thanks, Serdar! Really appreciate the feedback. A built-in response diff is definitely on my radar—it would make comparing staging vs. production responses much easier without the export/import workflow. I can also see it being useful for comparing headers, status codes, and response bodies side by side. Thanks for the suggestion!
One thing that would make ApiTab a daily driver for me is a built-in diff view between environments, so I can quickly spot when staging drifts from prod without exporting and comparing manually.
@veliycdf Thanks! That's a great suggestion. A built-in diff view between environments is something I've been thinking about as well. Being able to compare staging and production responses side by side—and quickly spot differences in the response body, headers, or status codes—would definitely make debugging much faster. I'll keep this in mind as I plan future updates!
Switching between the desktop app and the browser extension feels seamless, and my collections actually synced without me touching anything. Nice work on keeping it local-first.
Thanks, Muammer! Really glad to hear that. Making the transition between the desktop app and the extension feel effortless was one of my main goals, so it's great to know it's working well for you. Thanks for trying ApiTab!
