Maker here. API Ring started from something dumb: I lost an API key for the third time in one week ā buried in an old .env file I couldn't find. So I built a two-click vault for it. Then I kept building until it was actually good enough to ship.
What it is:
A free Chrome extension. Save a key, name it, copy it back when you need it.
Everything stays local in your browser ā no server holds a copy of your keys, and the code is open source, so that's not a claim you have to take on faith.
5 keys free, unlimited once you add your email. No token, no subscription, no account wall.
Why free: I'd rather earn trust with something genuinely useful than lead with a paywall. If it saves you time, that's the whole point.
