This is the first piano learning app that can teach you literally any song. You input a YouTube/Tiktok/Insta link or audio file. We can turn it into a piano roll tutorial, listen to you play, and tell you if you're hitting the right notes. Existing piano education apps rely on a set catalog of songs, and not all songs have piano tutorials available on YouTube. We broke free from this limitation by training our own foundational AI models for music transcription.
We built Anything Piano as the next step to fulfilling our mission: to break down the barriers to music learning, so anyone can play the songs they love.
We think those barriers exist because the way people usually start learning piano (or any instrument) is flawed.
Firstly, the first song a learner plays is almost never the song they actually care about. It's usually a classical piece handed to them by a teacher, or something off a "best beginner songs on piano" list. Our philosophy is that people are far more likely to keep playing if they're learning the songs they love. If someone hears a song and thinks "wow, that's so beautiful," they should be able to learn it. Instead, right now, it isn't even clear how they'd get started.
Secondly, learners typically start with sheet music, which raises the barrier further. Learning an instrument is hard enough without learning a whole new language at the same time. (That said, we still very much value sheet music. It encodes structure in a way piano roll never will, and it raises the ceiling on what a pianist can do. We plan to offer sheet music in the app in the coming months.)
Meanwhile, more things than ever are competing for people's attention, including apps built to keep them hooked on short-form content. As a result, the number of children taking instrument lessons is on the decline.
We envision a future where the barrier to picking up any instrument and playing the songs you love is almost zero. This is just a first step.
