Heym
Thanks for building AnyDub, Eyal. Doing the dubbing live in the browser without uploading a file or waiting on rendering is the detail that makes this usable during an actual meeting instead of just for pre-recorded video.
A problem this could solve: a team with one non-native English speaker on a Zoom call who normally just nods along and catches up later from the recording. Real time dubbing during the call means they can respond and participate instead of processing everything after the fact.
How does AnyDub handle overlapping speech when several people talk at once, does the dubbing queue up and fall behind, or does it drop audio to stay in sync?
Nice to see this aimed at live meetings and not just YouTube or Netflix, that's the harder half of the problem and the one most dubbing tools skip.
@mbakgun To be honest, this is something I’ve tried to solve in several different ways.
For now, the most reliable solution I’ve found is to dub all audible speech, even when people talk over one another. I haven’t yet been able to separate overlapping speakers with consistent accuracy.
That’s why I added the option to control the original audio volume. Keeping some of the original sound in the background helps you stay in sync with the actual conversation and provides enough context to understand who said what.
I’m confident this will continue to improve over time.
Tried it on a Netflix show last night and the dubbing felt surprisingly natural, like the timing actually matched the actors' mouths. Honestly didn't expect it to handle the live Zoom side that smoothly either.
@ybenjamin_cheung Really happy to hear that
Tried it on a French YouTube video and the dubbing kicked in almost instantly with a pretty natural-sounding voice. Latency felt low enough that I could actually keep watching without losing the flow.
@eleanor_vane Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Honestly, this is so good. The real-time dubbing actually works perfectly
@hila_peleg1 Thanks!
