Most alarms you tap once and forget. Anchor is an iPhone alarm where you say a custom phrase out loud to turn it off—e.g. "I will begin work" or "I will drink water." Speech recognition runs on-device; alarms stay local. It does not replace the Clock app: when locked, you tap the notification first, then speak. No account, no subscription.

How does the speech recognition handle background noise or mumbling in the morning, especially if you're still half asleep?
Actually kind of clever that it makes you speak the phrase out loud instead of just typing it. Tried "I will start my workout" this morning and it felt more like a commitment than a reminder.
Finally tried this and the on-device speech recognition actually feels snappy. Saying "I will drink water" out loud at 7am is a small thing but it's stuck with me longer than any notification ever has.
speaking the phrase to dismiss the alarm is a clever little friction that actually makes me pause and notice what i said. glad it stays local too.
