Smart Wake times your alarm to your lightest sleep. Night Mode simulates sunrise. A spoken briefing starts your morning. Underneath: an engineering guarantee that no alarm can end in silence — layered fallbacks through audio, haptics, and Apple Watch.

As a masters track and field athlete, the state of my nervous system affects my performance. This app has features that gradually prime me for wake up and helps me to feel sharp and energetic when I wake up. This helps me both at work and for track. I will be using it for the Masters Championship to ensure my nervous system is at its best and ensure that I wake up and that I’m ready to go on time.
@david_decarlucci David, this is fantastic — thank you. Competition mornings are the ultimate test of what a wake-up should be: no jolt, no fog, just up and ready when it counts. That's exactly the experience Gentle Wake is built around, so hearing it's carrying over to your training days too made my morning. Good luck at the Masters Championship — I'll be quietly proud knowing Alora's on duty for that alarm. Come back and tell me how the race-day wake-up goes?
I like the Gentle Wake feature as the sounds seem to begin my waking process before the actual alarm goes off, making it much less jarring to hear the alarm. I feel more prepared to start my day. After trying a few different Gentle Wake sounds, I think Night Chord is my favorite.
@jeff_murray Jeff, thank you — you've described Gentle Wake better than I usually do. That "already partway awake before the alarm" feeling is exactly the design goal: the pre-wake sounds do the heavy lifting so the alarm itself is a confirmation, not a shock. And I'm delighted Night Chord won — it went through a lot of iterations to get the harmonics right. Did you land on it for the tone itself, or did it just wake you most reliably?
I love this app. I sleep in the dark and the sunrise feature gives me light on my schedule which really helps me wake up gently.
@valda_kawecki Thank you, Valda — "light on my schedule" is a lovely way to put it. Dark rooms are wonderful for sleep and terrible for waking, so letting the sunrise come to you instead of rearranging your bedroom around a window is exactly the point. So glad it's making mornings gentler!
Wow! Absolutely love the idea of the alarm adjusting my wake up time for changes in traffic and weather. The morning briefing is a nice touch as well.
@joe_mcaleer Thank you, Joe! That adaptive piece is the feature I get the most "wait, it actually does that?" reactions on — if there's an accident on your route or ice overnight, Alora quietly moves your alarm earlier so the morning stays calm instead of becoming a scramble. The briefing was built as the companion to that: by the time you're upright, you already know what kind of day you're walking into. If you give it a try, I'd genuinely love to hear how the first week feels.
Hey Mark
Did my first test run this morning and it was great. Purposely let it go for a few minutes to see how the system reacted and the escalation worked as advertised! Enjoyed the messages and “what to expect for the day” blurbs. Fantastic app!
@Alora Wake Hi Mark, love having the option of a gentle, sunrise wakening with a daily calendar. Helps start my day off on the right foot.
@maureen_cloonan Thank you, Maureen! Sunrise plus the day's calendar is my favorite pairing too — wake up gently, then know what you're waking up into. "Starting the day on the right foot" is about the best summary of the whole app I could ask for. So glad it's working for your mornings!
