I originally built this little tool for my mom. She reads a lot of books, but as she's getting older, holding a book or staring at a screen has become a luxury. Unfortunately, many of the books she reads don't have an official, high-quality audiobook. I wanted to give her something reliable that can make whatever she wants to listen to, so here we are 🙂
You open an ebook, PDF or other document, pick a voice, and the site turns it into an audiobook right in your browser. Your book never gets uploaded, so it stays on your computer the whole time. You can try the voices without signing up, and a free account gets you 3 hours of audio.
If you want to convert whole books, Pro costs $19 once and also gives you more voices and an M4B file with chapters.
There's also a desktop app for Mac and Windows called Studio. It gives you more options for fine-tuning the voices and works in English, Chinese, German, Spanish and French. You can try it for free with 30 minutes of audio.
