Run multiple Claude and Codex accounts side by side on one Mac - desktop apps and CLIs both. Each profile gets its own launcher, CLI command, login, and usage meters. Switch instantly, no logging out. Free, open-source, and 100% local - no telemetry, no cloud.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
ai-profiles lets you run multiple Claude and Codex accounts on one Mac -
the desktop apps and the CLIs, side by side. No more logging out to
switch between your work and personal account.
Create a profile, pick an app (Claude or Codex), give it a name and a
color. ai-profiles generates everything on the spot:
• A real .app launcher in /Applications - Spotlight, Launchpad, Finder
and ⌘-Tab all see it as its own app, tinted with your profile colour.
• A CLI command on your PATH (claude-work, codex-personal, …) - each
with its own login, history, and config.
• Per-profile usage meters - each account's quota (5-hour / weekly
windows) right on its card, so you can see who's near a limit.
Already using Claude or Codex? On first launch it offers to import your
existing setup into a profile, with a 7-day backup so you can roll back.
What it isn't: no cloud, no telemetry, no analytics. Everything stays on
your Mac - the only outbound request is the GitHub update check. MIT-
licensed and free.
macOS 12+ for now. I'd love your feedback - feature requests and bug
reports welcome on GitHub.
