Most fitness apps force a choice between weightlifting and bodyweight training. If your routine mixes both, you usually end up tracking progress across multiple apps or messy text files. Aethel bridges that gap. Built specifically for anyone combining traditional gym sessions with calisthenics, it lets you log weighted sets, bodyweight reps, and skills inside a clean, streamlined iOS interface.




How does it handle progress tracking for skills like a muscle-up or planche where reps dont really apply the same way as weighted sets?
@kbra84zm Good question! Aethel's skill tree distinguishes between two types of progressions:
Isometric holds (planche, front lever, back lever, L-sit, handstand) are tracked by duration — you log seconds held, not reps.
Dynamic strength skills (muscle-up, pull-up, dips, push-up) are tracked by reps, same as a normal set.
The exercise logging screen adapts automatically: for hold-based skills it shows a seconds field instead of kg/reps, so you're never forcing a rep count onto something that's actually about time under tension. Progress within the skill tree then unlocks based on whichever metric is relevant to that specific node — hold time for isometrics, rep thresholds for dynamic moves.
Does it support something like a superset that mixes a barbell move and a pull-up bar skill in the same block, or would I have to log them separately?
