I’m Hao, founder and CEO of AdmitPlus.
Education has always been deeply personal to me. I grew up and studied in different countries as an international student, and those experiences showed me how profoundly a great education—and a great teacher—can shape someone’s life.
Today, there are 1.67 billion learners worldwide, including 264 million higher-education students. While 86% of surveyed students already use AI in their studies, 58% say they still lack sufficient AI knowledge and skills. At the same time, the world is projected to need 44 million additional teachers by 2030.
For most of human history, great teachers have been scarce. We know that one-to-one guidance can be far more effective than learning in a classroom of hundreds, but cost, time, and geography have made it impossible to give every student a personal teacher.
AI has made answers abundant—but getting an answer is not the same as learning.
A chatbot can answer a question and move on without understanding a student’s goals, identifying their knowledge gaps, or checking whether they have truly mastered a concept.
That’s why we built AdmitPlus: a multimodal AI learning team for every student.
