Most email lists we looked at had the same quiet problem: a good part of the audience hadn't opened anything in a year, and nobody wanted to remove them "just in case." Those contacts still count toward the bill, and they also tell inbox providers that people aren't reading, so the subscribers who do care start seeing you in spam.
