Why I built this tool: I was converting an Android application project that has been running fine for the last 6 years or so. Recently, the Google Play console started warning me about new policies that require me to publish using Android App Bundles. The application I’m working on is not designed to use Google Play Services (GPS), and it’s difficult to test. It would be ideal to do this without resorting to something like Android Studio. Unfortunately, the official Android SDK that supports this does not contain an easy-to-use command-line tool like I would use for iOS. However, there are a few command-line utilities that work reasonably well, but they are a little fiddly to configure and use, requiring many flags to specify the output and other parameters. I wanted something that would work out of the box, without me having to write any special scripts or change my workflow.
