Hello Product Hunt family, 👋 I'm Toni, I work as a Freelance Product and web designer and a month ago I finished a 30 days challenge designing the hero section of websites. For the 30 days of the challenge, you had to open Figma (or any other design program), pick a random image from the Internet, and come up with a website based on what you saw. Honestly, I found the 30 days quite challenging because it is not always easy to be creative on a forced basis and in your free time, and it is even more challenging to limit the time you have to design to just an hour! I was motivated by completing the challenge to continue posting daily on social media, along with the hashtag #30daysofwebdesign, even when some of my designs were terrible. Thanks to this challenge, I learned that all work doesn't have to be pixel perfect, that following design trends is not a bad thing, but it helps you to train your designer's eye, and that in real life, we don't have 8h for a small task, but we have to be able to design with time limits in order to be efficient. You learn best this way. After completing the challenge, I felt very proud of myself. Therefore, I would like to contribute to this challenge by helping others who are interested, by providing daily ideas for the design process that will make it easier for them. Why? I used to get stuck thinking about it for at least 30 minutes a day, so I was able to give my design very little attention. By creating this newsletter format, every day you will receive an email with the design instructions for that day, so you don't have to worry about the theme, but start designing straight away! If for whatever reason you don't like the idea you get that day, I suggest you download the Unsplash's plugin in Figma to get a random image to inspire you to complete the design for that day! So, just to tell you that if you are starting in web design or you have a friend who wants to learn, this tool is totally free and will always remain so (until we can continue to maintain it). And that joining this challenge, will help you to open your mind and understand how you can improve or learn to design, create content, be part of a community and get feedback from your creations spending little time a day. I love this!!!!! I’ve already registered. You are right, trying to commit to these kind of challenges is very hard with no guidance on what to do daily. But what I love the most about your idea is that this makes you feel part of something, that you are not alone completing your goals, that you are part of a community that also wants to keep learning and keep improving. Plus the daily reminder of having to do the task definitely helps!!! Thanks for doing this 🙏🎉
