Early this year, my childhood friend and I started a podcast revisiting the movies of our youth (the '80s and '90s), called 2 Dads 1 Movie. This past weekend, I finally launched the website that goes along with it. Completely bespoke, with a ton of info about our episodes and the films we cover. Ruby 3, Rails 8 under the hood, along with the usual suspects: Postgres, Redis, Sidekiq, etc. Lots to explore, fun stats, links to transcripts, the whole nine yards.

Websites for podcasts are generally terrible, just links of episodes, essentially an HTML translation of the XML-based podcast feed. I wanted so much more and set out to create something unique. The project is called "Channel3" (we all had to set our TV to channel 3 to watch our VCR, remember?) but everything user-facing is branded to the 2 Dads 1 Movie podcast. It's hyper focused on movie podcasts, with use of TMDB's API for film and people details, and is driven initially by the podcast's main feed, for finding new episodes and the film covered in each one.
I'm proud of the site both as a way for listeners to interact with the podcast, and also as a creative and technical work all its own.

Great concept. Dig the site. Killer list of movies.
