I noticed that many talented creators across Africa produce high-quality, handmade fashion items but lack visibility, online presence, or access to modern e-commerce tools. Meanwhile, many consumers want unique, affordable, and authentic African-made fashion but don’t know where to find or trust reliable vendors. Zee Fashion bridges this gap by connecting fashion artisans directly with customers, providing them with tools to build digital storefronts, receive secure payments, and grow their businesses online. The vision is to make African fashion more discoverable, scalable, and sustainable—while creating income opportunities for small creators and promoting cultural pride. Initially, the focus was simply on building a marketplace where tailors and shoemakers could upload and sell their products. But as I engaged more deeply with artisans, I realized they also needed support beyond just listing items online—such as onboarding assistance, digital training, and credibility verification. This led to the evolution of Zee Fashion into a more holistic ecosystem: one that not only connects creators and customers but also helps artisans build trust through verified profiles, reviews, and business mentorship. The launch process involved understanding the pain points of both sides—creators and buyers—then refining the platform to ensure ease of use, community connection, and impact.
