Elliott Pigee
👋 Hey everyone! Elliott, Co-Founder of Yivster, here. As a failed YouTuber/creator myself with my twin brother the creator journey has led my twin brother and me through setbacks, pouring our time and equity into creative pursuits. From these struggles emerged Yivster, a new path empowering video creators not just to survive but to thrive financially in a supportive community. 🏂🏾 **Our Team** - We're two creators who intimately understand the pain points of the creator journey. Yivster was born from our passion for the creator economy, fueled by conversations with fellow creators battling strict monetization policies and creativity boundaries on major platforms. 🚀 **Yivster’s Features** - 💰 **Monetization:** Enjoy an enticing 80/20 split for tips received—no prerequisites, just immediate earnings to boost your content game. - 📊 **User Dashboard: ** Your hub for success. Track views, subscribers, and revenue. Customize your channel effortlessly within your User Dashboard. -🧳 **Future Updates: ** - More monetization methods for creators such as ways of making money outside of just ads. - Possibly playing with the idea of letting viewers(non creators) make money on the platform someway. - Creator insights giving creators key metrics to help give creators the right analytics to grow their channels moving forward. 🗣️ **Let's Interact! ** - Your feedback fuels our growth. Whether constructive or uplifting, we're all ears for your input as we iterate and evolve. - Reminder, It's just me and my twin in the mix, currently in Beta. So please bear with us as we look to expand in the near future. Join us on this journey!
Rami
wow, this looks next level! Do you guys think you can afford all of the bandwidth and infrastructure costs associated with YouTube?
Durrell Pigee
@kingromstar We believe we can hang in there for sure. We just have to make sure we scale properly as we grow. Right now it’s pretty manageable. We plan on adding live streaming as well so that will add cost. As long as we stay healthy that’s the key, but we should be ok especially once we raising funding 😁.
Elliott Pigee
@kingromstar Hey Rami, I believe as long as we focus on the main goal/features and not venture to far off feature wise with the combo of the technology out there we will be good 👍
Garen D Orchyan
Looks nice. Congrats on the launch team ♥️🦄
Durrell Pigee
@orchyan much appreciated. Thank you for the uplifting words.
Elliott Pigee
@orchyan Appreciate it Garen, good luck on your launch!

Grats on the launch. You might want to take a look at how your videos look on different devices. On ultra-wide screen they are unwatchable, for example but looking pretty bad elsewhere too. Hint: max-height: 720px; width: 100%; object-fit: cover;...depends on what they have to fit-cover... 👀
Durrell Pigee
@fabiosalvadori ok thank you so much for that it means a lot. This is something we can definitely get fixed. You should be able to definitely watch it on your laptop at the moment for sure though. 😁
Durrell Pigee
@fabiosalvadori what was your favorite video on the platform to watch?

@naveed_rehman Appreciate it. Right now in the process of getting influencers on board and start shaking stuff up 😀 Good luck on your launch!
Durrell Pigee
Please share your feedback as we’re in beta. 😁

You mentioned some pain paints and strict monetization policies as reasons for building Yivster. As someone who has no experience as a YouTube creator, it’s hard to really grasp what these pain points and restrictions mean for creators like you. And how/why they were reasons behind your lack of success on YouTube. Would be great if you could share more details on all that. Congrats on your launch!
Durrell Pigee
@julienergan of course for example on YT you have to meet a certain requirement in order to start monetizing your content. To get monetized on YouTube, you need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time. On Yivster there are no requirements at the moment in order to start receiving tips any user can who uploads a video. We believe users should be able to at least have the option to earn something. That’s just one example. Another example is the amount of competition on YT. YT of course is the biggest video platform out there so it’s tons of competition out there and can be hard to get your content discovered. That’s why on Yivster we want to build better algorithms so that everyone has a chance to appear on search results as well as the home page of our platform. These are just a few examples.
