Cut cloud waste before it happens

We kept hearing from customers, “We know we are leaking cloud spend. But Yasu's full platform has more than we need right now – we just want to see where we're wasting money”. Fair enough, so we spent the last few weeks building Yasu Lite.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm John, co-founder of Yasu. We built the world's first AI Cloud Engineer. The problem that drove us crazy: Companies waste 32% of their cloud spend, that's $512B globally, every year. But here's what really frustrated us: existing tools only tell you about waste after the money is gone. You get dashboards, charts, recommendations... that nobody has time to implement. We saw this pattern repeatedly: engineering teams drowning in 100+ "optimization recommendations" with a 5% implementation rate. The tools were working. The humans couldn't keep up. Our approach: What if cloud cost optimization worked like a senior engineer on your team—one who actually fixes problems, not just reports them? That's Yasu. Autonomous AI agents that prevent cloud waste before it happens and implement fixes automatically. We've shifted from "here's your problem" to "we fixed it for you." Early results: 30% average cost reduction, 95% implementation rate (vs. 5% industry average). Would love your feedback! What's the biggest pain point you've hit with cloud costs?

@johninthout love it!
Given how much infra costs any successful startup has, you guys I think are hitting the gold :)

On a practical note, I a need to deploy a speech to speech open source model on a server, and I will reach out to you for an advice, how to make my costs smaller and experience better!

@pavelk2 Thank you pavel! ❤️

David Cline

It looks like it is analyzing terraform/Cloudformation templates in github? Very cool!

John in 't Hout

@dcline Yeah it is David, would love to give a demo when you are free :)

Amir Bornaee

Congrats guys!!!

John in 't Hout

@amir_bornaee Thank you Amir! much appreciated!

Vikram Das

@amir_bornaee Thanks!

Love the concept. I am constantly frustrated with out infra spend. I know aws has cost optimization recommendations, but honestly, they aren't very good. Most of them are just ways to find places where you haven't pre-bought with savings plans.

John in 't Hout

@jared_scheel Thanks Jared! Would love to setup an demo!

Vikram Das

@jared_scheel As an ex-AWS person, I can tell you that is by design :) That's why you need tools that don't have benefit from your increased cost + are easy to use. If you would like to double-click more, let John or me know.

Jared Scheel

@vikram_das2 @johninthout yep, definitely by design. I'll give it a look.

David Cohen

Congrats! How are you different from Google Cloud’s cost recommender?

John in 't Hout

@david_cohen27 Thanks David!

Vikram Das

@david_cohen27 Thanks! There are quite a few ways that we are different from google cloud's native recommender; let me talk about two key ones - 1) we help prevent cloud waste before it happens, so not after you've deployed something, this helps you to avoid cloud overspend in the first place 2) our AI agents do a deep analysis of your spend pattern and have much granular understanding to give you specific reccos which improve over time. We are also way easier to use than native recommender. Happy to show you a demo, let John or me know.

Yasu catching oversized instances in Terraform before the PR merges is the move. Runtime cost reports only tell you what you already spent.

@piroune_balachandran exactly! we believe this is 10X cheaper to resolve overspend before deployment, it's one of the things about Yasu that our customer love!

Let's goooo @johninthout !
