I’ve always liked writing tools that disappear into the background. Over time, most platforms became heavier with complex editors, formatting menus everywhere, and too many decisions before you even start writing.
I wanted something closer to the early web publishing experience: open the page, write, add a bit of structure, and publish.
That’s what led to building Writep.ad, a minimal editor where formatting appears only when you need it, and publishing is instant. No dashboards, no complicated setup, no friction between the idea and the published post.
During development, the biggest shift was realising that *less really is more*. Early versions had more features, but each addition made the writing experience slightly worse. So the process became one of removal, stripping the editor down to only what actually helps writing: simple formatting, embeds for images/videos/tweets, and clean publishing.
The goal isn’t to compete with full blogging platforms. It’s to create the simplest possible path from thought → writing → published page.
